EUReKA Workshops
What do we do?
The EUReKA! Team will visit your classroom and conduct a 90-minute presentation to your class. Teachers will be able to choose from some of 9 new topics, depending on the age range, which cover many areas of science such as engineering, physics, biology, and chemistry.
How much is it?
A single workshop within Kamloops is $115.00. Out-of-town workshops are $125.00 to cover travelling expenses.
We supply all the materials needed and leave your class with additional resources for projects that are easy to repeat at home or in the classroom.

Beginning May 12th until June 19th, 2025

Primary: Grades K–2
COLOUR CHANGING POTIONS!
Color-Changing Potions is a fun, hands-on chemistry workshop for grades K-2 that brings science to life with exciting experiments like swirling rainbow milk, fizzy balloon blow-ups, and foamy elephant toothpaste! Students will explore acids, bases, chemical reactions, and gas formation—all through colorful, interactive activities that spark curiosity and encourage discovery. Perfect for curious young scientists and a great way to support your classroom science goals with unforgettable, mess-friendly fun!
HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT!
Do you have young explorers in your class that are interested in really cool animals, how about animals that can change colour or disappear? In this workshop students will learn about local animals, their habitat and the super cool phenomenon known as camouflage. Students will disappear into the riveting animal kingdom through a combination of fun hands-on games, activities and a craft where they will make their very own camouflaging chameleon as they gain hands-on experience with camouflage.
POM POM PARTY LAUNCH!
Get ready for a hands-on adventure where young scientists will explore the exciting world of physics through creative building, testing, and launching! In this playful and interactive activity, we’ll be using everyday materials to create two mysterious contraptions that are sure to surprise and delight. Once they're built, it’s time to see which one can send our soft and colorful projectiles soaring the farthest! Along the way, kids will uncover how forces like stored energy and motion work!. It’s the perfect blend of curiosity, creativity, and science fun, wrapped up in a high-energy experience your learners won’t forget!
Intermediate: Grades 3–5
COLOUR SPLASH CHEMISTRY
Calling all curious chemists and color lovers! In this vibrant, hands-on workshop, students will explore the wild world of pH through exciting color-changing experiments. From solving a mysterious “pH crime” to making magical pink potions disappear, and even building a rainbow in a test tube, this workshop is packed with chemistry, creativity, and colorful surprises. Get ready to splash into science – where every drop reveals a secret!
ECSTATIC ELECTRICITY
Join us for a wild ride into the world of electricity, where we’ll build our very own potato batteries and see if they’ve got enough spud power to light things up. Then, get ready for some hair-raising fun with static electricity! With just a balloon, can you make a soda can scoot across the floor? Or bend water without even touching it? You’ll test it out and see for yourself, no magic wands needed, just science! It’s all hands-on, all surprising, and totally electrifying.
GLOW GROW!
Grab your goggles and join the adventure to uncover how plants turn sunlight into sugar and maybe even a glowing surprise! Mix, mash, and marvel as you reveal the hidden colors inside leaves, then use a UV light to unlock the magic of chlorophyll. MO-MO-MO-MOTION
Design It. Build It. Race It
Strap in for a fast-paced ride through the science of motion! In this hands-on workshop, your students will team up to explore Newton’s Laws by building wild, whirling machines from balloon-powered racers to CD-spinning hovercrafts. Along the way, they’ll uncover how speed, mass, and force shape everything from skate tricks to rocket launches. It’s part science lab, part design challenge, and allout fun! Watch colorful layers stack up in a mind-blowing density tower . Using your brainpower and the scientific method, you’ll design your own floating-food experiments to find out! The fun doesn’t stop there, get ready for the ultimate team challenge! Join Team Floaters or Team Sinkers and race to match mystery items to their destiny: sink or swim? URINE IT TO WIN IT: ARE YOU KIDNEY ME
Ever wondered what your body really does with all the stuff you eat and drink? Get ready to find out, in the weirdest, coolest way possible! In this awesome handson lab, you’ll explore how your body’s secret superhero—the excretory system— teams up with other systems to keep everything running smoothly. You’ll build your own working kidney model (yes, it actually filters like the real thing!) using sand, charcoal, and filters. Then, it’s time to solve some totally fun medical mysteries! You’ll test fake urine samples (don’t worry—it’s not real!) to figure out who’s dehydrated, who drank way too much water, and who might be showing signs of something more serious. It’s science, and it’s one investigation you won’t forget!
