First Year / New Students
This information is for students in the new two-year program that starts in fall 2024.
Registration for ARET students opens around mid June. You will be notified of the exact date by email through myTRU. Instructions on when and how to register for courses using the web registration can be found at TRU Registration. We recommend viewing the online registration tutorial before starting.
In the tables below are the courses that all first year students must register in. Note that some courses have a lecture, seminar and lab component or some combination of the three components.

Note: Enroll in the one Lecture Section with only one seminar (01 or 02, but not both). Choose either all 01 seminars or all 02 seminars. There are only seminars for ARET 1102 and only a lecture for ARET 1302.
* ARET 1412 Takes place during the two weeks after the winter semester, so there will not be any conflicts with the other courses.
All faculty, staff, and students are warmly invited to attend SUPER 2026, our annual showcase of undergraduate research in the Faculty of Science.
Join us to explore research ideas and opportunities and to support our student researchers as they share the results of their research. Science students from all areas of Science will be presenting posters from projects completed through Honours, Directed Studies, Undergraduate Research Experience Award Program (UREAP), and other research programs.

SUPER is designed to inspire early-year science students by highlighting what senior students have achieved. First, second, and third-year Science students are encouraged to come discover the many research opportunities available to them throughout their degree.
