Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA)

Graduate Teaching Assistant will work under the academic supervision of a faculty member and the overall administrative supervision of the relevant department chairs and the Dean of Science.

  • Applicant must enroll in TRU MScDS program and be in good standing. 
  • GTA must demonstrate English language proficiency.
  • GTA will be selected by the Award and Scholarship Committee based on their academic qualifications.
Research Assistant Fellowship (RA)

Supervisor may provide RA based on the research project and activities, and the current research grant available. Contact your supervisor for information.

Ken Lepin Research Graduate Student Award

Eight awards valued at $6,000 each are available to domestic students entering or continuing in TRU's graduate programs.

Ken Lepin Graduate Student Awards are available to financially help students who are entering their first or second year of a full-time graduate studies program for students studying on campus. The awards will be given on the basis of outstanding academic achievement in course work and research, and will take into account leadership activities.

Deadline: Aug. 15

Dr. Sherman Jen Graduate Entrance Award

Eight awards valued at $6,000 each are available to students entering TRU's science and education graduate programs.

The Dr. Sherman Jen Graduate Entrance Awards are available to students entering their first year of a full-time on-campus graduate studies program. The awards will be given based on outstanding academic achievement in course work and research and will take into account leadership activities.

Deadline: April 1

The six students receiving the Dr. Sherman Jen Graduate Entrance Award from the Fall 2022 cohort are:

BC Graduate Scholarships

Four awards valued at $15,000 each to the best and brightest graduate students who are leaders in their fields. Eligible graduate programs that are research intensive and professional, with emphasis but not exclusive focus on disciplines related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Available to student who are: Canadian or permanent resident, entering their first or second year of full-time on-campus graduate studies program (with an emphasis on first year), academic excellence. Preference given to Indigenous applicants.

Deadline: Dec. 1

All faculty, staff, and students are warmly invited to attend SUPER 2026, our annual showcase of undergraduate research in the Faculty of Science.

Join us to explore research ideas and opportunities and to support our student researchers as they share the results of their research. Science students from all areas of Science will be presenting posters from projects completed through Honours, Directed Studies, Undergraduate Research Experience Award Program (UREAP), and other research programs.

SUPER is designed to inspire early-year science students by highlighting what senior students have achieved. First, second, and third-year Science students are encouraged to come discover the many research opportunities available to them throughout their degree.
